The Alliance of German Democrats ( AD-Democrats for short , ADD ) is a small German party that is primarily aimed at Turkish-born and Muslim immigrants .

The party was founded by Remzi Aru directly after the Bundestag resolution on the Turkish genocide against the Armenians in 2016. In his view, there is no longer any party for - especially Turkish - migrants in Germany to be elected. Important goals of the alliance are: full membership of Turkey in the EU , the retention and expansion of the double passport , the right of Muslim women to wear a headscarf where and when they want, and the right to vote for migrants in federal and state elections , if you have lived in Germany for at least ten years.

The party ran for the first time in the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017 . It achieved 0.15% of the second votes cast.

The Federal Constitutional Court has the appeal of the German-Turkish lawyer and party leader of the Alliance German Democratic Ramazan Akbas in connection with the genocide - Resolution not granted the Bundestag. The court found it unfounded and proven that the applicant's fundamental rights had been violated. The complainant Ramazan Akbas has now brought the matter to the European Court of Justice in Strasbourg.

The state list of the ADD in North Rhine-Westphalia was approved for the 2017 federal election . During the election campaign, the party posted pictures of Erdogan with a Turkish slogan that translates as “Turkey friends - stand with them! Give them your votes! Grow with them! ”Reads. Nationwide they got 0.1 percent of the votes, in NRW 0.4%. In a few cities the party became the strongest party among those parties that did not reach the Bundestag, for example in Herne with 1.2%.

A regional association of ADD was founded in Bavaria in mid-December 2017 , the first regional chairman is the industrial engineer Taner Kaplan.

criticism

  • Experts see a clear closeness to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Justice and Development Party (AKP) and a “narrow electoral base”, since the party primarily addresses people of Turkish origin, but only half of them are allowed to vote in Germany.

Others

  • The AFD put 2017 lawsuit against the originally used abbreviation ADD and won the lawsuit in the first instance. An appeal process has been initiated.
