The constituency Wetterau II is (constituency 26) of a three- state election circles in the Hessian Wetterau. The constituency includes the towns and communities of Altenstadt , Büdingen , Florstadt , Gedern , Glauburg , Hirzenhain , Kefenrod , Limeshain , Nidda , Ortenberg and Ranstadt .

Of the approximately 97,000 inhabitants of the constituency, 72,965 citizens were eligible to vote in the last state election.

In addition to Lucia Puttrich (CDU), who was elected directly for the first time, the SPD candidate Lisa Gnadl and the AfD candidate Andreas Lichert were elected to the state parliament via the state lists of their respective parties. The previous LINKE MP Gabriele Faulhaber, who had moved up to the state parliament during the previous electoral term, only ran for election in the constituency but not on the state lists and left parliament after the election.
