Hessian State Statistical Office

The Hessian State Statistical Office , based in Rheinstrasse in Wiesbaden, collects data from a wide variety of social, economic and ecological areas for the generation and provision of high-quality statistics . This is usually done by order of the Federal Statistical Office , which is also based in Wiesbaden, or by Eurostat in accordance with legal requirements. The most important legal basis is the law on statistics in the state of Hesse.
history
The history of the authority goes back to 1861. In that year the "Grand Ducal Central Office for State Statistics" was founded with its seat in Darmstadt in the Grand Duchy of Hesse . In 1929 it was renamed the "Hessian State Statistics Office".
