Statistical Office of the Saarland
The Statistical Office of Saarland in Saarbrücken performs the tasks of official statistics in Saarland in cooperation with the Federal Statistical Office . The office has been a department of the State Office for Central Services since 2006, which in turn reports to the Ministry of Finance. It is responsible for the implementation and publication of statistical surveys within the framework of federal and state laws as well as according to the regulations of the European Union . More than 200 statistics on economic, social and ecological topics are currently being prepared.
The other tasks of the office include holding the elections in Saarland. Since 2004, the counting results have been electronically transmitted to the State Statistical Office, which means that the election results can be displayed directly on the Internet or made available for download (e.g. for the press).
