The constituency of Hochtaunus II (constituency 24) is a Landtag constituency in Hesse . The constituency includes the cities and communities Glashütten , Königstein im Taunus , Kronberg im Taunus , Oberursel (Taunus) , Schmitten , Steinbach (Taunus) and Weilrod from the Hochtaunus district .

In the last state election, 77,057 of the approximately 107,000 inhabitants of the constituency were entitled to vote. The population density is 471 inhabitants per km². The constituency is located in the "bacon belt" of Frankfurt am Main , which is one of the reasons why the district is one of the highest-income districts in Germany. The constituency is considered a CDU and FDP stronghold.

The constituency until 1966

Between 1950 and 1966 there was constituency 29, which included the Obertaunus district , in accordance with the Hessian state election law of September 18, 1950 . The Hintertaunus communities of today's constituency were then part of constituency 22. This consisted of the district of Usingen and a number of communities in the district of Friedberg .

In 1946 the area of today's constituency was part of constituency XIV . This constituency was made up of what was then the Main-Taunus district , the Obertaunus district , the Limburg district and the Usingen district.
