The constituency of Hochtaunus I (constituency 23) is a state electoral district in Hesse . The constituency includes the cities and communities Bad Homburg vor der Höhe , Friedrichsdorf , Grävenwiesbach , Neu-Anspach , Usingen and Wehrheim from the northeast of the Hochtaunus district .

In the last state election, 85,963 of the approximately 119,000 residents of the constituency were entitled to vote. The population density is 469 inhabitants per km². The constituency is located in the "bacon belt" of Frankfurt am Main . The unemployment rate in the district is lower than in the city of Frankfurt or Hesse as a whole (district: 3.6%, Hesse 5.0%, Frankfurt 6.1% in October 2016). The disposable income per inhabitant of 27,467 euros is 47.2% above the national average (2005). The Hochtaunuskreis is the district with the highest income in Germany. The constituency is considered CDU - and FDP - stronghold .

With a lead of 16,646 votes, Holger Bellino achieved the third clearest constituency result of this election. The constituency is one of those with the highest voter turnout in Hesse. At the same time, he is the one with the lowest percentage of invalid votes.

The constituency until 1966

Between 1950 and 1966 there was constituency 29, which included the Obertaunus district , in accordance with the Hessian state election law of September 18, 1950 . The Hintertaunus communities of today's constituency were then part of constituency 22. This consisted of the district of Usingen and a number of communities in the district of Friedberg .

In the state elections in Hesse in 1946 , today's constituency was part of constituency XIV . This constituency consisted of the then Main-Taunus-Kreis , the Obertaunuskreis, the Limburg district and the Usingen district.
