Petra Fuhrmann (born October 19, 1955 in Wiesbaden as Petra Heim; † July 22, 2019 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1991 to 2014 .

Life

Petra Fuhrmann studied political science and chemistry at the TH Darmstadt . After taking the state examination in 1982, she initially worked in adult education. She also worked as an employee of a member of the European Parliament and as the second women's representative for the state capital Wiesbaden.

From 1991 to 1994 she headed the parliamentary department in the Hessian Ministry for Women, Labor and Social Affairs. From 1994 to 2014 Fuhrmann was a member of the Hessian state parliament. As a direct candidate in the constituency of Hochtaunus I, she was subject to the CDU candidates, but was elected via the state list. The focus of her work was social, equality and financial policy. Fuhrmann was the spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group on women’s and labor market policy.

In addition, she was a member of the SPD party council, the district executive committee of the SPD Hessen-Süd and the state executive committee of the SPD Hessen and was chairwoman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (AsF) in the SPD district Hessen-Süd.

Petra Fuhrmann lived in Friedrichsdorf in the Taunus . She died in July 2019.
