Hermann Schaus (born May 28, 1955 in Worms ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Schaus is a full-time union secretary for the United Service Union , most recently as managing director in the district of southern Hesse. He is a trained car mechanic and holds a degree in administration . Schaus lives in Neu-Anspach ; he is of Protestant denomination, married and has two children.

politics

Schaus was a member of the SPD from 1972 to 1993 and resigned there due to the asylum compromise and the great bugging attack . In 2001 he founded a regional group Hochtaunus von Attac . In 2004 he was involved in the founding of the WASG , member of the Hessian state board of the WASG-Hessen and there until autumn 2006 state press spokesman. Today he is a member of the state executive committee of the party Die Linke .

Schaus was a member of the district council in the Hochtaunus district from 2006 to 2011 . In the Hessian state elections in 2008 , 2009 and 2013 , he was elected to the state parliament via the state list. In the 17th electoral term, which only lasted from April to November 2008, he was Vice President of the State Parliament. In the Hessian state parliament he is a member of the council of elders and the interior committee.

For his parliamentary group, Schaus presented the study “ Braunes Erbe - NS-Past Hessischer Landtag member of the 1st to 11th legislative period” by the author Hans-Peter Klausch . The great public response to this publication prompted the state parliament to commission the historical commission of the Hessian state parliament to carry out another study, including the members of the two Hessian pre-parliaments from 1946. This study, presented in February 2013, confirmed Dr. Klausch and found a total of 92 NSDAP members among the 403 former members of the state parliament, as well as numerous other memberships in the SA and SS .
