Neu-Anspach is a town in the Hochtaunuskreis in Hesse . On October 31, 2007, the community of Neu-Anspach was elevated to a town due to the fact that it had a population of 15,000 .

Geographical location
Neu-Anspach is 300 to 400 meters north of the eastern Taunus ridge in a spacious valley of Usatals . The following streams run in the Neu-Anspach area, all of which flow into the United States: Ansbach , Heisterbach , Arnsbach , Forstbach , Röderbach , Häuserbach and Eisenbach.
Neighboring communities
Neu-Anspach borders in the northwest and north on the city of Usingen , in the east on the municipality of Wehrheim , in the south on the city of Bad Homburg vor der Höhe and in the west on the municipality of Schmitten . Neu-Anspach is the only municipality in the Hochtaunus district that does not border on any other district.

history
The eponymous district of Anspach is documented for the first time as Langenansbach in 1274. Originally the development extended from today's forest swimming pool to the old town center. The neighboring town of Stahlnhain became deserted at the end of the 14th century and became part of the district of Langenansbach.
Anecdotal: “During the Thirty Years' War, Anspach was besieged by enemy troops, causing the population to flee into the surrounding forests. After some time, the then mayor Johannes Paul Löw snuck back into the village because of a dream to check whether his hidden treasures had been discovered. When he realized that enemy troops were no longer present, he began to ring the church bells to inform the population. Allegedly this happened at ten o'clock, so that the bells of the Evangelical Church rang every day at ten o'clock (today at eleven o'clock) to commemorate. In memory of this act, the bells were included in the new coat of arms of the district of Anspach. "
Neu-Anspach was created in the course of the regional reform in Hesse on December 1, 1970 as a voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent communities Anspach , Rod am Berg and Hausen-Arnsbach . Westerfeld was added as the fourth district on December 31, 1971. Local districts were not formed in Neu-Anspach.
In the north of the district of Anspach, north of the USA and at the level of the Taunusbahn train station, an extensive new building area with a new town center was created between the four districts. The Feldberg-Center shopping center , the community center and the Catholic Church of St. Mary with a community center are grouped around a market square .
The biggest political scandal in the city was the arrest of Mayor Heinz Born (SPD) on the day of penance and prayer in 1991 on suspicion of corruption in connection with a building award cartel at the district level. In the local elections that followed, the SPD faction, which had dominated for many years, was halved.
In August 2007, Mayor Klaus Hoffmann ( CDU ) presented the municipal council with a plan to apply for city rights. On September 3, 2007, the community council unanimously approved this plan. After a resolution by the Hessian state government, the municipality was finally granted the right to use the designation city on October 30, 2007 .

The city's coat of arms shows a quartered shield, which shows the four elements of the coats of arms of the formerly independent municipalities of Anspach (golden bell on a blue background, from 1817 to 1953 five green round bumps, oval at the top, mounted in two lines), Hausen-Arnsbach (rose with green bumps on a golden background), Rod am Berg (red deer pole on a golden background) and Westerfeld (golden ear of wheat on a green background). The economy of the merging former villages was characterized by agriculture and rather small business. The aim of the 1970/72 merger was primarily to promote the settlement of citizens who mainly work in the Frankfurt am Main area on newly designated building sites . The next connection to the federal motorway 661 is about 13 kilometers from the town center. The connection to the federal motorway 5 is about 15 kilometers away, to Bad Homburg it is about 12 kilometers and to Frankfurt am Main airport about 35 kilometers.
In public transport on the rail there are direct connections to Bad Homburg (sometimes up to Frankfurt am Main), Grävenwiesbach (from there bus connection according Because Burg ) and Brandoberndorf with the Transport Association high Taunus operated (VHT) RMV - line 15 ( Taunusbahn ). Public facilities
Until 2011, Neu-Anspach was the seat of the municipal association for the Taunus Nature Park . In 2011, he moved from his building on the former Brandholz landfill to the new Taunus information center in Oberursel.
With three locations, the city of Neu-Anspach has three volunteer fire brigades (Anspach, Hausen and Rod am Berg), with the Anspach location serving as the central fire station with a respiratory protection workshop and hose washing. All breathing apparatus and fire hoses are checked, serviced and cleaned by volunteer equipment operators. In mid-2013, the Westerfeld fire department was closed and merged with the Anspach site.

Elementary schools
In Neu-Anspach there is the primary school on the Hasenberg and the primary school on the Wiesenau.
The primary school on the Wiesenau was built in 1995 right next to the Adolf Reichwein School. 20 teachers teach 280 children in 14 classes. Since 2004 there has been a school partnership with the Fanaka Memorial Secondary School in Tanzania .
The primary school at Hasenberg is located on the outskirts of Hausen-Arnsbach and was opened in 1999. In 2010 the school began to be expanded to include a care center and specialist rooms. The new building near the Anspach development area had become necessary due to the strong population growth. 330 children are taught by 18 teachers.
Adolf Reichwein School
The Adolf Reichwein School is a comprehensive school opened in 1966 . It was named after the German resistance fighter Adolf Reichwein .
With the creation of a grammar school upper level , the attractiveness of the school has been increased significantly. In the 2001/2002 school year, the first Abitur was taken at the Adolf Reichwein School . In 2005, a modern new building was opened to complement the functional 1960s buildings that are now in need of renovation. The school complex comprises eight buildings, two large and one small gymnasium and a sports field. About 1700 students attend this school.
Culture and sights
The most famous sight of Neu-Anspach is the Hessenpark open-air museum , which has been located in the south since 1974 and is much visited . The Saalburg Roman fort near Bad Homburg can be reached 5 kilometers south.
The Lochmühle amusement park, popular with families with children, is in the neighboring town of Wehrheim .
Forest swimming pool
The forest swimming pool in the Usbachtal , west of Anspach, is an outdoor pool.
Other facilities
The Anspach district is the only place in the Usinger Land to have a cinema. The Usinger Land volunteer agency is based in Neu-Anspach to promote civic engagement. The association is the contact point for people who want to get involved, mediates them to other organizations or develops their own engagement projects.
The old school in Anspach is an educational institution run by the Association of German Scouts in the old school in the Anspach district.
In addition, Neu-Anspach has numerous sports clubs that are grouped under the main club SG Anspach . The SG Anspach was founded on May 15 or 17, 1862 as a gymnastics and singing club. The 43 founding members initially did gymnastics in Otto Ernst's inn. The community gave the gymnastics club a former sports field on today's Saalburgstrasse, which was used as club premises.
Grünwiesenweiher
The Grünwiesenweiher near the Hausen-Arnsbach district, with a size of 1.3 hectares, is one of the few larger bodies of water in the Taunus. For geological reasons there are no natural lakes worth mentioning in the Taunus. The Grünwiesenweiher is also artificially created and has served as a reservoir for the mills on the Usa and Fischgrund since the 18th century. The first documentary evidence of the pond dates back to 1805. After the Second World War, the pond was also used as a bathing lake. For this purpose, a quarry stone wall, a bathing jetty and a barbecue hut were built on the east bank. Due to the forest location and the low water exchange, however, the pond regularly "overturned" due to the use of bathing, so that the municipality decided in 1987 to forbid bathing and to place the pond under nature protection.
