The constituency of Darmstadt-Stadt I (constituency 49) is a state electoral district in Hesse . The constituency includes the statistical districts 110 to 340, 610 to 640, 810, 820, 910 and 920 of the independent city of Darmstadt . This is the northern part of the city with the districts Darmstadt-Mitte, Darmstadt-Nord, Darmstadt-Ost, Arheilgen , Kranichstein and Wixhausen .
In the last state election, 67,153 of the approximately 90,000 residents were entitled to vote. The constituency was considered an SPD stronghold; except in the state elections in 2003 , 2009 and 2018 , the constituency was always won by the SPD.
