The constituency Main-Taunus I (constituency 32) is a state constituency in Hesse . The constituency includes the northern part of the Main-Taunus-Kreis with the cities and communities Bad Soden am Taunus , Eppstein , Eschborn , Kelkheim , Liederbach am Taunus , Schwalbach am Taunus and Sulzbach .

Of the approximately 114,000 inhabitants of the constituency, 81,914 citizens were eligible to vote in the last state election. The constituency in the “bacon belt” of Frankfurt has a significantly higher economic power than the country's average. In the Main-Taunus-Kreis an unemployment rate of 4.4 percent was measured in November 2007, in Hesse 6.8 percent, and an available income per person of 22,155 euros in 2005, in Hesse 18,775 euros. The constituency is considered a CDU stronghold. It has been held by the CDU since its formation in 1970. The constituency is the home of the Hessian Prime Minister Roland Koch , who was in office from 1999 to 2010 .

The constituency until 1966

According to the Hessian state election law of September 18, 1950, constituency 28 existed between 1950 and 1966 , although this was not completely congruent with today's constituency. The then constituency 28 consisted of what was then Main-Taunus-Kreis .

In the state elections in Hesse in 1946 , today's constituency was part of constituency XIV . This constituency consisted of the Main-Taunus district, the Upper Taunus district , the district of Limburg and the district Usingen .
