Christian Heinz (born June 6, 1976 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Christian Heinz graduated from high school in 1995 and then did military service. From 1996 to 2000 he studied law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz as a scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation . He completed his studies with the first state examination in 2000 and the second state examination in 2002, after completing the legal clerkship from 2000 to 2002.

Since December 2002 he worked in the Hessian state service. Until 2004 he worked in the Hessian State Chancellery, the regional council of Gießen and for the district administrator of the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis. From 2004 to 2006 he was a consultant for European affairs in the Hessian state representation in Berlin and from 2006 to 2008 a consultant in the department of state parliament and cabinet affairs, conference of interior ministers in the Hessian interior ministry. From 2008 to 2010 he was head of the department for parliamentary and cabinet affairs, conference of interior ministers and EU coordination in the Hessian interior ministry.

Christian Heinz has been married since 2009 and has three children. Since 1997 he has been a member of the Catholic student association VKDSt Hasso-Rhenania Mainz in the Cartell Association .

Christian Heinz is a member of the CDU. In 1992 he joined the Junge Union Eppstein and held various positions there. Between 1993 and 2001 he was among other things chairman of the Junge Union Eppstein, deputy district chairman of the JU Main-Taunus and member of the state board of the JU Hessen.

Since September 2000 he has been a city councilor for the city of Eppstein . Since April 2011 he has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. He has also been a member of the Main-Taunus District Council since April 2011 . Since 2015 he has been deputy chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group.

Member of Parliament 2010–2019

In the state elections in Hesse in 2009 , Christian Heinz ran as a substitute candidate for Roland Koch in the Main-Taunus I constituency for the Hessian state parliament. After Koch left the state parliament at the end of September 1, 2010, he moved to the state parliament on September 2, 2010.

In the 18th legislative period of the Hessian state parliament, Christian Heinz was a member of the Interior Committee and the Legal Committee. In the 19th legislative period that followed, he was chairman of the legal committee and a member of the home and main committee. Member of Parliament since 2019

In the election for the 20th Hessian state parliament on October 28, 2018, Christian Heinz again won the direct mandate in the constituency Main-Taunus I with 35.4% of the votes, which was the fifth best result of all directly elected MPs in Hesse. At the beginning of the new electoral term in January 2019, he was elected Chairman of the Interior Committee.

The Interior Committee deals with a wide range of state political issues. This includes all questions about the police, fire protection and general security. Furthermore, it is about the civil service, sport and local law.

He is also spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in the legal policy committee, as well as a member of the council of elders and the presidium of the 20th Hessian state parliament. The Presidium is the executive committee of the state parliament and decides on internal affairs of the state parliament. So it determines the draft budget and the economic plan for the business area of ​​the state parliament.

As a member of the presidium, Christian Heinz is a member of the board of the CDU parliamentary group.

Member of the Constitution Study Commission

From the beginning of 2016 to Christian Heinz was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Enquete Commission "Constitutional Convention amending the State of Hesse Constitution." He was instrumental in drafting the 15 proposals to amend the Hessian state constitution (including the abolition of the death penalty, commitment to the European Union, promotion of voluntary work as a national goal). As part of the Hessian referendum on October 28, 2018, all 15 amendments received the necessary majority. The amended state constitution came into force on December 22, 2018.
