The Rheingau-Taunus II constituency (constituency 29) is one of the two state electoral districts in the Rheingau-Taunus district of Hesse . The constituency includes the cities and communities of Aarbergen , Hohenstein , Hünstetten , Idstein , Niedernhausen , Taunusstein and Waldems . By law of December 18, 2017 (GVBl. P. 478), the municipality of Heidenrod , which had previously belonged to the constituency, was added to the Rheingau-Taunus I constituency .

Geographically, the constituency covers the northeast of the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis, also known as Untertaunus , but excluding Bad Schwalbach , Heidenrod and Schlangenbad , which belong to the Rheingau-Taunus I constituency .

In addition to the directly elected constituency member Peter Beuth (CDU), who has been a member of parliament since 1999, there are also the SPD candidate Marius Weiß, the Greens candidate Kai Klose, the FDP candidate Stefan Müller and the AfD candidate Klaus Gagel drafted into the state parliament via the respective state lists of their parties. Only the left is not represented in parliament with a representative from this constituency.

The constituency until 1966

Between 1950 and 1966 there was constituency 24 in accordance with the Hessian state election law of September 18, 1950 , which included the Rheingau district and the Untertaunus district. The two independent communities of Königshofen and Niedernhausen belonged to the Main-Taunus-Kreis and thus to constituency 28.

In the state elections in Hesse in 1946 , today's constituency was part of constituency XIII . This constituency was made up of the Rheingaukreis, the Untertaunuskreis and the independent city of Wiesbaden . The following were elected:
