Gagel attracted more attention through his statement that there had been a fight in a swimming pool in Taunusstein because "an extended Islamist family from the group of migrants with an estimated 15 members" wanted to use the swimming pool in everyday clothing. The city administration and police were not aware of the incident he described. He later moved away from his statement. He also advocated banning clothing in swimming pools, which, however, is already laid down in the bathing regulations in the version of January 27, 2011.
