Roland Rösler

Roland Rösler (born August 23, 1943 in Schönau , Sudetenland ) is a German officer and politician ( CDU ).

Career

After attending elementary school in Merseburg , Rösler moved to West Germany , completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker there and obtained secondary school leaving qualifications on a second educational path. He switched to the German Armed Forces in 1963 , was initially a contract soldier and later became a professional soldier . In 1976 he received his appointment as lieutenant. Today Rösler is retired.

He was politically committed in the area of ​​bioethical issues and advocated the right to life of unborn children in particular . Rösler worked closely with Aktion Leben in Abtsteinach and the European Doctors' Campaign.

Political party

Rösler is a member of the CDU and the Christian Democrats for Life .

Member of the state parliament

Rösler belonged to the Hessian state parliament from June 21, 1977, when he replaced the resigned MP Heribert Märten , until 1999. He always ran for election in the Rheingau-Taunus II constituency, but was elected via the CDU state list - with the exception of the 1987 state elections when he was able to defeat the former SPD member Gerhard Bruch in the constituency.

Honors

In 1990 Roland Rösler was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
