Peter Hartherz
Peter Hartherz (born July 27, 1940 in Darmstadt ; † October 2, 2018 in Neu-Anspach ) was a German educator , administrative officer and politician ( SPD ).
Life and work
After graduating from high school in Frankfurt am Main , Hartherz studied pedagogy in Jugenheim and then worked for ten years as a teacher and deputy principal in Neu-Anspach . During this time he joined the Education and Science Union (GEW). He later entered the administrative service, was promoted to head of department at the regional council in Darmstadt and later to the senior government council. He also acted as a personal advisor to the Hessian Minister of Education, Ludwig von Friedeburg . He was married to a teacher at the Adolf Reichwein School in Anspach.
Political party
Hartherz joined the SPD in 1958 and became treasurer of the SPD Hessen in 1984 . From 1995 to 2005 he was managing director of the SPD parliamentary group.
MP
Hartherz was elected to the district council of Usingen in 1968. After the formation of the Hochtaunuskreis , he was also elected to the district council of this district and was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there from 1973 to 1997. From 1997 to 2008 he was a member of the district committee. He was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1974 to 1995. He ran for the constituency of Hochtaunus I , but was always elected via the SPD state list.
