Dieter Fertsch-Röver

Dieter Fertsch-Röver (born February 18, 1924 in Frankfurt am Main ; † March 2, 2007 in Cologne ) was a Hessian politician ( FDP ) and a former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Dieter Fertsch-Röver was the son of the Hessian state parliament member Georg Ludwig Fertsch . He was married and had 7 children.

After graduating from high school , he did military service from 1941 to 1945 , most recently in the rank of lieutenant , was wounded and was taken prisoner of war. After the Second World War he did a bank apprenticeship and worked as a commercial manager and - after his father's death in 1948 - as a co-owner of the Röver dry cleaning company in Frankfurt am Main-Niederrad.

politics

Dieter Fertsch-Röver had been a member of the FDP since 1951. In his party he was district chairman Obertaunus from 1957 to 1968 . In 1968 the district association elected him honorary chairman. From 1962 to 1965 he was district chairman of the FDP West-Hessen and from 1963 to 1969 and 1982 to 1985 a member of the FDP state executive. In 1971 he was also elected as chairman of the FDP Federal Committee on Economics, Consumers and Transport.

In terms of local politics, he worked as a city councilor in Frankfurt am Main from 1952 to 1956 and as a community representative in Mammolshain from 1960 to 1972 . 1960 to 1968 he was also a member of the district council of the Obertaunuskreis and chairman of the FDP parliamentary group.

In the 11th electoral period he was a member of the Hessian state parliament from October 13, 1983 to February 17, 1987. He had run in the constituency of Hochtaunus II , where he received 12.3% of the vote, but was elected via the FDP state list.

Other offices

Dieter Fertsch-Röver was involved in a large number of voluntary functions. From 1958 to 1973 he was chairman of the collective bargaining committee of the Federal Dyeing / Dry Cleaning Association and from 1957 to 1972 also of the Hessian Textile Cleaning Association. In 1950 he was one of the founders of the Working Group of Self-Employed Entrepreneurs (ASU) and was Deputy Federal Chairman from 1952 to 1954 and Federal Chairman from 1964 to 1971. In 1956 he was elected as a member of the general assembly of the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Commerce . Since 1967 he has been a board member of the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA) and, since 1969, of the Institute of German Economy . In 1975 he was appointed to the consumer advisory council at the Federal Minister of Economics, and from 1974 to October 1983 he was appointed to the Monopolies Commission.

At the end of 1976 he became a board member of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and worked on the board from 1977 to 1979 and since 1983 as treasurer. In July 1982 he became a member of the board of the cable communication institute in Ludwigshafen .

Honors

In 1977 he was awarded the Theodor Heuss Prize and in 1978 the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany.
