Stefan Naas (born November 23, 1973 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and was Mayor of Steinbach (Taunus) from 2009 to 2018 . From January 2019 he will be a member of the Hessian state parliament .

Stefan Naas grew up in Steinbach. After four years at the Steinbach Geschwister-Scholl-Elementary School, Naas switched to the Altkönigschule in Kronberg . There he graduated from high school in 1993, which was followed by a bank apprenticeship. From 1995 to 2000 he studied law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . He completed his second state examination in parallel with his doctorate in 2004. The subject of the dissertation was the Prussian Police Administration Act . Until he was elected mayor in Steinbach in 2009, Naas worked as a government councilor in the Frankfurt am Main IV and I tax office. From 2006 to 2008, he moved to the Hessian Ministry of Finance in Wiesbaden. In Hochtaunuskreis , Naas is chairman of the district council. In addition, he has been chairing the Rhine-Main FDP district association since 2014.

Since November 1, 2016 he has been the parliamentary group leader of the FDP parliamentary group in the State Welfare Association of Hesse .

At the end of 2017, Naas announced that it would run for the state elections in Hessen in 2018 . The FDP Hochtaunus nominated him for direct candidacy in the constituency of Hochtaunus II . On November 18, 2017, the regional assembly of representatives of the FDP Hessen nominated Naas for fourth place on the state list, from which he was elected to the Hessian state parliament. In the parliamentary group of Free Democrats in the Hessian state parliament, Naas is the spokesman for economic, industrial, labor market policy and the Frankfurt financial center, as well as spokesman for art and culture and spokesman for infrastructure.
