Gabriele Faulhaber

Gabriele Faulhaber (born June 21, 1953 in Neustadt an der Waldnaab ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament .

Life

Faulhaber passed the secondary school leaving certificate in 1969 and the Abitur in 1972. From 1973 to 1974 she studied art at the Städelschule in Frankfurt and from 1975 to 1981 special and curative education at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1981 she passed the first state examination and in 1983 the second state examination for teaching at special schools.

Between 1983 and 1991 she worked in graphics companies and in the rehabilitation of mentally ill people at the Frankfurt Association for Social Home Centers. From 1991 to 2011 she worked as a teacher at the Erich-Kästner-Schule in Ortenberg, an affiliated school for learning and educational assistance. She was senior principal for five years before retiring in 2011.

Until 1991 Faulhaber was a member of the DKP , for which she ran in the state elections in 1983 and 1987 in the Wetterau I constituency . In 2006 she became a member of DIE LINKE party. In this party she was active in various board positions. She was a member of the state executive. She is currently the district chairwoman of LINKEN in the Wetterau district . She ran for the LINKE in the state elections in 2009 and 2018 in the Wetterau II constituency and received 4.4% (2009) and 4.2% (2018) of the first votes.

From November 1, 2016 to January 17, 2019, she was the successor to Barbara Cárdenas Alfonso in the state parliament. In the parliamentary group, she was the spokesperson for education policy, migration and petitions and animal welfare policy. In the state parliament she was a member of the council of elders, of the inquiry commission "Leaving no child behind - framework conditions, opportunities and future of school education in Hesse", in the cultural policy committee, in the petitions committee and in the Hessian animal welfare advisory board.

She is a member of the district assembly of the Wetteraukreis and the association assembly of the State Welfare Association of Hesse.
