Barbara Cárdenas Alfonso (born January 14, 1954 in Werne ) is a Hessian politician ( Die Linke ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Barbara Cárdenas Alfonso is a qualified psychologist and qualified pedagogue . She worked as a psychologist in counseling centers, as a pedagogue and psychologist in a school for the physically handicapped, in language training and nationwide in the further and advanced training of teachers and educators. She led two research projects.

Barbara Cárdenas Alfonso is married and has two children.

Barbara Cárdenas Alfonso became a member of the German Peace Society in 1969 , of the Marxist Student Union Spartakus in the 1970s and of the DKP for three years in the 1980s . In 1993 she moved to Dietzenbach . In 2007 she moved up for the Dietzenbacher List (DL) in the Dietzenbach city parliament, and since the local elections in 2011 she has been deputy chairwoman of the left-wing parliamentary group there.

In the state elections in Hesse in 2008 , she was elected to the Hessian state parliament via the state list of the party Die Linke.

In the parliamentary group, she was the spokesperson for educational policy (especially school education), migration and integration policy, and animal rights.

She was Chair of the Petitions Committee (PTA) in the 18th electoral term . She was the chairwoman of the left-wing parliamentary group in this committee as well as the cultural policy committee (KPA) and the following permanent sub-committees / commissions / advisory boards:

  • Preliminary Review Commission for Petitions (VPK)
  • Integration Advisory Board
  • Animal Welfare Advisory Board
  • Hessian Integration Conference

In the state elections in Hesse in 2013 , she ran in the Offenbach Land II constituency . Here she was defeated by Ismail Tipi (CDU) . However, she succeeded in re-entering the state parliament via a list position for the party.

On October 31, 2016, she left the state parliament. Gabriele Faulhaber became the successor .
