Klaus Dietz (born January 2, 1956 in Rockenberg ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and member of the Hessian state parliament . He is Catholic, married and has three children.

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1976, Klaus Dietz completed his two-year military service in Dillingen / Donau . From 1978 he studied agricultural sciences at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and left the university in 1983 with a degree in agricultural engineering.

After completing his studies, Dietz worked from 1984 to 1986 as a press and public relations officer at the Hessian Farmers' Association. In the following years, 1986 to 2008, he was editor of the trade journal Hessenbauer of the Landwirtschaftsverlags Hessen GmbH. Between 2008 and 2009 Dietz was a speaker at the Hessian Farmers' Association for renewable energies and renewable raw materials.

Klaus Dietz has been an active member of the CDU since 1979 and was initially deputy chairman of the CDU Rockenberg until 1985. After moving in 1986, Dietz was a member of the board of the CDU Ockstadt for two years and then from 1989 to 1996 a member of the board of the CDU Nieder-Mörlen . Between 1995 and 2003 Klaus Dietz was chairman of the CDU Bad Nauheim .

In terms of local politics, Dietz was a community representative in Rockenberg from 1985 to 1987, a member of the Wetterau district assembly from 1981 to 1993 and since 1993 he has been a city councilor in Bad Nauheim. In 2004 Dietz was elected chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in Bad Nauheim.

Dietz has been a member of the Hessian state parliament ( constituency 26 - Wetterau II ) since 1997, he was involved in the working groups finance, environment and in the main committee. In the state elections in 2008 , he narrowly missed the re-entry because he was defeated by the SPD candidate Lisa Gnadl . In the new elections on January 30, 2009, Dietz won back the direct mandate and thus moved back into the Hessian state parliament. Dietz is involved in the committee for the environment, energy, agriculture and consumer protection, in the main committee, in the budget committee and in the board of trustees of the Hessischer Naturschutz Foundation .
