Christel Hoffmann (politician)

Christel Hoffmann (born March 19, 1949 in Kirberg ; † May 14, 2018 ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1967 and a voluntary social year, Hoffmann studied biology and graduated in 1974 with a degree in biology. In 1975 the second state examination in teaching at grammar schools for the subjects of biology and chemistry followed. From 1982 to 1988 she taught at the Rheingau School in Geisenheim .

politics

Hoffmann had been a member of the SPD in Oestrich-Winkel since 1978 and was chairwoman of the local SPD association from 1979 to 1985 and 1987 to 1993.

From 1981 to 2001 and from 2006 she was a city councilor in Oestrich-Winkel. For several years she was parliamentary group leader of the SPD parliamentary group in the city ​​council and since 2001 a member of the district assembly of the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis .

Hoffmann was a member of the Hessian state parliament from July 11, 1989 to 2008. She always ran in the Rheingau-Taunus I constituency , where she was subject to the CDU candidate Franz Josef Jung . She moved into the state parliament via the SPD state list. From April 5, 1991 to April 4, 1999 and from June 20, 2001 to April 4, 2003 she was deputy chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group.

In the state parliament, Hoffmann was chairman of the subcommittee for financial controlling and administrative control since April 5, 2003 as well as of the subcommittee for the review of the state budget accounts from April 5, 1995 to April 4, 1999. She was deputy chair of the committee for the environment, agriculture and forestry from 5 April 2003. April 1999 to April 4, 2003. She was also a member of the Committee on Environment, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection, European Committee.
