Ingeborg Seitz

Ingeborg Seitz (born May 18, 1924 in Magdeburg ; † October 25, 2006 in Braunschweig ) was a Hessian politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Dramburg in 1942 , Ingeborg Seitz studied philology in Jena until 1944 . After the end of the war, she trained as a teacher and passed the first state examination in 1950 and the second in 1953. She then worked as a teacher and consultant at various agricultural schools in Hessen from 1953 to 1970, most recently she was head of the housekeeping department in Reichelsheim.

politics

Ingeborg Seitz had been a member of the CDU since 1968. She was active in a large number of leadership positions in the CDU, including over ten years as deputy district chairwoman of the CDU South Hesse.

One focus of her political work was the women's union . From 1972 to 1992 she was a member of the state and federal executive boards, ten years of which was state chairman. After leaving office, she was elected honorary chairman of the Hessen Women’s Union.

For the CDU, she was a member of the CDU district parliamentary group of the Odenwald district from 1968 to 1992 , which she headed as chairman from 1972 to 1982. From 1982 to 1992 she was deputy district chairwoman.

On December 1, 1970, she was elected to the Hessian state parliament and held this mandate for 5 electoral terms and 17 years until February 17, 1987. In the state parliament she was a member of the agriculture and petitions committee as well as the cultural and political working group. She was chairman of the petitions committee for nine years.

In 1974, 1979 and 1984 she was a member of the Federal Assembly .

Other offices

Ingeborg Seitz was active in the rural women's association for many years. From 1961 to 1980 she was a member of the Reichelsheim District Board. Since 1978 she was also a member of the board of directors of the consumer association Hessen.

Honors

Ingeborg Seitz was awarded the bronze and gold medal of honor of the Odenwaldkreis and the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and First Class.
