Herbert Hirschler (politician)

Herbert Siegfried Hirschler (born July 15, 1948 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German economist and former State Secretary. He lives in Geisenheim in the Rheingau-Taunus district .

Herbert Hirschler studied from 1968 to 1975 at the University of Frankfurt am Main with a degree in economics and a business teacher. He received his doctorate in 1978 with a thesis on “Compensatory financing models and their significance for economically less developed countries” .

He switched to the civil service and worked in the Hessian Ministry of Economics and Technology from 1976 to 1991, most recently as a department head. From 1991 to 1999 he was Government Vice President in Darmstadt . From 1999 to 2004 he was State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Transport and Regional Development. He then worked for the Hessen Economic and Infrastructure Bank until 2012 , most recently as management spokesman. From January to May 2012, Hirschler again joined the Hessian state government as State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry of Education , before taking on the role of the state government's representative for housing. Most recently, from May to December 2015, he was interim commercial director of Berlinovo Immobilien Gesellschaft mbH.

Hirschler has been a member of the FDP since 1967 . Since 2007 the chairman of the board of the Karl-Hermann-Flach-Stiftung has been .
