The Karl Hermann Flach Foundation is a party-affiliated foundation in Hesse with headquarters in Wiesbaden .
History and tasks
It was founded in 1977 as an association and named after Karl-Hermann Flach , the first general secretary of the FDP . In 2007 it was converted into a foundation. It operates as an educational institution in the state of Hesse and contributes to the promotion of democracy and liberalism on a non-partisan basis . To this end, it organizes around fifty events annually in cooperation with the Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate country office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom .
The chairman of the board of the foundation is Frank Blechschmidt .
It also awards the Karl Hermann Flach Prize, endowed with € 5,000, every two years .
