Party-affiliated foundations of the FDP
The Free Democratic Party ( FDP ) has several party-affiliated foundations .
Federal level
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is the party- affiliated foundation of the FDP at the federal level, based in Potsdam- Babelsberg. It is named after the liberal politician Friedrich Naumann (1860-1919). The foundation is a member of the European Movement Germany network . Since 2007 the addition “for freedom” has been part of the foundation's name. It was founded on May 19, 1958.
State level
The foundations at state level are organized as a registered association or as a foundation under private law. They exclusively and directly pursue charitable purposes that aim to promote the idea of liberalism in the respective federal state. To this end, the foundation organizes seminars in the field of political adult education and issues its own publications . In addition, they should research and document the historical development of the liberal movements in the state and through research and advice serve the foundations and political goals of a liberal society.
