The Wilhelm Külz Foundation is a party-affiliated foundation of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in Saxony . It is named after the Saxon liberal politician Wilhelm Külz .

History, tasks and educational opportunities

The foundation was established on April 13, 1991 in Meißen as an institution for political adult education. It serves exclusively charitable purposes and is based in Dresden . The foundation fulfills its tasks mainly with funds from the state budget of the Free State of Saxony and from contributions from the seminar participants.

The Wilhelm Külz Foundation promotes civic engagement and lively democracy with its events. Encouragement, qualification and motivation for social and political voluntary work are just as much goals as the consolidation of free and liberal judgment. The work of the foundation aims to strengthen citizens' rights and obligations to freedom. She advocates the liberal constitutional state, democracy and a social market economy. In addition, it promotes the ideal foundations of liberalism in intellectual openness and strengthens organized liberalism.

With its diverse types of events, the foundation deals with political and social as well as international, historical and economic issues. Up-to-date knowledge transfer, content-related reflection, open discussions and conversations as well as well-founded opinions are intended to contribute to understanding and shaping our society and political freedom.
