The aim of the Karl Hamann Foundation is to promote political education in the state of Brandenburg, to make a contribution to coming to terms with the history of German liberalism , to impart practical knowledge about current political contexts and liberal ideas through lectures, pamphlets, seminars and other measures to spread. The foundation was established in an effort to honor the work of the liberal politician Karl Hamann for democracy and German unity as well as his resistance to the arbitrariness of the SED rulers and to lively discuss the liberal values and concepts of society he defended.
Educational offers
As part of its political work, the foundation offers a differentiated educational program in the Brandenburg area, which is open to all politically interested parties as a discussion forum. The Karl Hamann Foundation cooperates with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in the implementation of the educational program . The cooperation is based on the partnership that has existed since 1995 and resulted in a cooperation agreement between the two foundations on January 1, 2013. The management, the conception, organization and implementation of the educational work with the Berlin-Brandenburg regional office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom were linked in order to use synergy effects and avoid competitive situations.
