Thomas Häcker

Thomas H. Häcker (born February 1, 1962 in Crailsheim ) is a German educator .

Life

After graduating from high school in Crailsheim in 1981, Thomas Häcker studied history , German, sport and philosophy at the PH Schwäbisch Gmünd for teaching at primary and secondary schools from 1983 to 1987 . In 1987 he passed the state examination for teaching at primary and secondary schools.

From 1988 to 1991 he completed a postgraduate course in educational science at the PH Heidelberg , which he completed in 1991 as a qualified pedagogue . In the same year, Häcker was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD at the University of Kaiserslautern . The clerkship , ie the preparatory service for the teaching profession in primary and secondary schools, graduated from hackers then in Mannheim .

After a time as a teacher at the Kurpfalzschule, a primary and secondary school with Werkrealschule in Dossenheim from 1993 to 1995, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Further Education (IfW) of the PH Heidelberg from 1995 to 1999. From 1999 to 2000 he was Teacher and vice-principal at the Waldparkschule Heidelberg , a primary and secondary school at that time with a technical secondary school. In the years 2000 to 2004, Häcker was again active as a research assistant in the sub-project "Promoting the quality of learning, developing school culture and learning environments" of the Federal-State Commission (BLK) model test program "Lifelong learning".

From 2004 to 2005 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Educational Science, School Pedagogy Department, PH Heidelberg. In 2005, Häcker completed his habilitation at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and became a private lecturer at the PH. From 2005 to 2008, Häcker was Professor of Education and Social Sciences at the PH Central Switzerland, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences , and from 2006 to 2008 head of the Institute for Educational Professionalism and School Culture (IPS).

Since March 2008 he has been Professor of Educational Science with special emphasis on school pedagogy and empirical educational research at the University of Rostock . He is also currently acting director of the Center for Teacher Training and Educational Research (ZLB).

Focus

Häcker's focus is on school pedagogy , general didactics , educational research , lesson development and teaching and learning research. Current work focuses are currently portfolio work in schools and teacher training, alternative performance assessment, university didactics and teacher training research. As part of the latter, he has been working on the international project “ Career Counseling for Teachers ” (CCT) for a long time . This is a career counseling for teachers and teacher training students, with the help of which aptitude is to be determined more precisely as well as help for the specific activity as a teacher.
