Vice principal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Germany, vice-principal is the name given to the deputy head of a primary , secondary or secondary school . Under state law, the deputy heads of a special needs school are also usually designated this way. In Bremen, the deputies of the rector of a university with their own area of responsibility are also referred to as vice rectors - in other countries they are called vice rectors.

As a historical term there is also the sub- principal who was subordinate to the vice-principal.

In Switzerland, the school management of a grammar school also consists of the rector and one or more vice rectors.

At Austrian grammar schools, the corresponding designation is administrator, who is not, however, the deputy of the director.
