Career Counseling for Teachers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Career Counseling for Teachers (CCT) is a project that aims to improve teacher training in German-speaking countries through special concepts and materials for career counseling for teachers .

Project

The project was launched in 1999 in cooperation with the European Commission as part of the COMENIUS program. In the long term, it serves to improve teacher training in German-speaking countries.

It is a kind of career advice for teachers as well as teacher training students , with the help of which both aptitude can be determined more precisely and help is given for the specific activity as a teacher. For users, CCT is designed on the one hand as a self-assessment and on the other hand as a source of information for the specific work of a teacher and the related professional requirements.

The Leuphana University of Lüneburg has included CCT as a compulsory part of the admission process for student teachers since 2009. In Baden-Württemberg the CCT procedure is officially recommended to determine suitability for the teaching profession. In the long term, a test developed from the CCT will even become an obligatory requirement for teacher training in this state. In Austria , many universities and PHs have been integrating the CCT procedure into the regular study admission procedure for teacher students for some time.

Sponsorship and management

CCT is scientifically managed by Johannes Mayr from the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt . Bernhard Sieland from the Leuphana University of Lüneburg and Thomas Häcker from the University of Rostock work in Germany .

CCT is supported by the Career Counseling for Teachers association . The association is based at the Institute for Teaching and School Development at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt .
