Özgür Gürerk

Özgür Gürerk (* 1975 in Erzurum ) is an economist and university lecturer .

Life

Gürerk came to Germany in 1991 and graduated from the Nicolaus-Cusanus-Gymnasium Bonn in 1994 . He studied economics at the University of Bonn and graduated in 2001 with a degree in economics . After working with Reinhard Selten during his studies , he switched to his former student Bettina Rockenbach at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Erfurt in 2001 . There he was laboratory manager of the laboratory for experimental economic research . In 2007, he was also awarded a Dr. rer. pole. PhD. He then continued to work as a research assistant at the faculty .

In 2008 he was awarded the Heinz Sauermann Prize .

In May 2013 he was appointed university professor for experimental economics research at RWTH Aachen University, a professorship he held until 2017. There he is director of the Aachen laboratory for experimental economic research: AIXperiment . From 2017 to 2019 he stayed in Aachen as a substitute professor . Since 2019 he has been working again at the Political Science Faculty of the Erfurt University.

Research priorities

Gürerk deals with experimental economic research , behavioral economics and business administration .
