Robert Fritz

Robert Adam Fritz (born July 23, 1890 in Frankfurt am Main ; † August 1983 ibid) was a German lawyer. In 1945 he was briefly Minister of Justice of Hesse .

Life

Robert Fritz was born as one of four sons of Johann Heinrich Fritz and his wife Magdalena, nee Schmitt. After studying law in 1929, Robert Fritz, who holds a doctorate in law, took over the management of the judicial press office at the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court . In 1934 he was appointed district court director in Hanau. At his own request, however, he was initially on leave and worked as a consultant for the metal company. He became a board member of the Metallgesellschaft and also of the German Association for the Promotion of Economic Relations with France (DEFRA).

On October 14, 1945, Robert Fritz was appointed by the American military government as an independent Minister of Justice in the Geiler cabinet . On November 1, 1945 he had to resign from office and was replaced by Georg-August Zinn ( SPD ). From 1958 he was a board member of the metal company.
