Franz-Joseph Rupert Ottomar von Plottnitz-Stockhammer (born July 4, 1940 in Danzig ) is a German lawyer and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

biography

Family, education and work

Von Plottnitz comes from the Plottnitz-Stockhammer family . After graduating from high school, he studied law at the University of Grenoble , the Free University of Berlin and the University of Frankfurt am Main . After completing his studies, he completed his legal clerkship in Hesse and France and began working as a lawyer in Frankfurt in 1969. During the Baader-Meinhof trial , he defended the RAF terrorist Jan-Carl Raspe . Today Plottnitz is a partner in a law firm in Frankfurt am Main. He is also a member of Attac's scientific advisory board and the board of trustees of the medico international foundation .

Plottnitz was with Cornelia-Katrin von Plottnitz and is married to Beate Gottschallk (* 1949) for the second time.

politics

During his studies Plottnitz joined the Socialist German Student Union (SDS). He later joined the Green Party .

MP

Plottnitz was from 1983 to 1987 council member of the city ​​of Frankfurt am Main . He was elected to the Hessian state parliament in the state elections in Hesse in 1987 and was chairman of the Green parliamentary group there from 1991 to 1994. After his appointment as Minister of State, he resigned his state parliament mandate on October 13, 1994. In the state elections in Hesse in 1995 , he returned to the state parliament as a member, but resigned from his seat on April 5, 1995. From 1999 to 2003 he was again a member of the state parliament, there from 1999/2000 economic policy spokesman and from 2000 to 2003 legal and European policy spokesman for the Green Party.

Rupert von Plottnitz was a member of the 9th and 10th federal assemblies .

Public offices

After Joschka Fischer's resignation , Plottnitz was appointed to his successor as Hessian Minister of State for Environment, Energy and Federal Affairs on October 6, 1994 in the state government led by Prime Minister Hans Eichel and at the same time took over the post of Deputy Prime Minister.

Plottnitz moved to the head of the Ministry of Justice and European Affairs on April 5, 1995 . From September 19, 1995 to October 10, 1995 and from February 22, 1998 to March 24, 1998, after the resignation of the Green Ministers Iris Blaul and Margarethe Nimsch , he also took over the provisional management of the Environment and Energy Department of the Department for Youth, Family and Health.

After the state elections in Hesse in 1999 and the formation of a Christian-liberal coalition, he left the state government on April 7, 1999. He is a member of the State Court of Hesse .
