Cornelia-Katrin von Plottnitz (* 19th June 1943 in Frankfurt am Main ), born Walz, a former teacher, author , theater director and councilor in the council of Frankfurt.

Private and professional career

Cornelia-Katrin Walz grew up in the Höchst district of Frankfurt . She attended elementary school there between 1950 and 1954, then the Helene Lange School . After graduating from high school in 1963, she studied English and German at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg, and completed the first state examination. After the second state examination, she was assigned to the Helmholtz School in Frankfurt's Ostend . In 1973 she was made a student councilor, and in 1977 a senior student councilor.

Cornelia-Katrin von Plottnitz was married to the lawyer and politician Rupert von Plottnitz . She had been in a relationship with nuclear researcher and environmental activist Klaus Traube , who died in 2016, since the early 1990s .

In 1990 she founded the "Ludwig Meidner Society" to commemorate the artist's almost forgotten work. The company is working on cataloging Ludwig Meidner's complete works . She succeeded in handing over his preserved estate to the Jewish Museum Frankfurt .

From 1992 to 1993 she was a member of the state planning group for the Integrated Comprehensive School in Nordend . Subsequently, von Plottnitz was seconded to the Hessian Institute for Educational Planning and School Development in Wiesbaden , where she worked from 1993 to 1995. From 1995 to 2000 she was appointed to the Frankfurt Pedagogical Institute, where she was responsible for setting up the "Education for Equal Opportunities" department.

In 1997 von Plottnitz became a member of the municipal authorities of the city of Frankfurt am Main, where she was an honorary councilor for the parliamentary group of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen until 2016 .

In 2000, she was given early retirement as a teacher. Nonetheless, von Plottnitz remained active and continued to take care of the theater group at the Helmholtz School on a voluntary basis. In addition, she took over the management of the youth theater tadhsch-gallus in the Gallus Theater, where she also works as director of the youth ensemble.
