Tax investigator affair

Weimar came under fire in 2005 as part of the tax investigator affair . Four tax investigators from a special group of the Frankfurt tax investigators were diagnosed with paranoia on the basis of faulty psychiatric reports. They were then forced into retirement. They had investigated against owners of hidden foreign accounts and initiated several thousand proceedings. T. were shortly before the statute of limitations. You were put into early retirement (after several months of previous sickness notification) due to alleged incapacity for work . The former tax investigators Rudolf Schmenger and Frank Wehrheim then filed a criminal complaint against Weimar in August 2009 . The Vice President of the Saarland Finance Court, Peter Bilsdorfer , filed a criminal complaint for embezzlement of taxpayers' money against those responsible in the tax authorities and Minister Weimar. The heads of the five tax offices and Karlheinz Weimar rejected the allegations of bullying , harassment and influence.

According to documents, the superiors kept secret subsidiary files with defamation about the tax investigator Schmenger, and the tax investigators were judged by the psychiatrist Thomas Holzmann, who acted on behalf of the state, to be “paranoid, quarrelsome ” and “ dysfunctional ”. According to the State Medical Association , the expertises were "courtesy reports".

After the appraisals were unsuccessful in court, At the beginning of December 2009, Weimar offered the four tax officers a return to the civil service. Dieter Deiseroth , judge at the Federal Administrative Court , described the forced retirement as “grossly illegal”. Weimar could not pass responsibility on to subordinate authorities, but rather its ministry and the Hessian regional finance directorate would have been obliged, according to the current legal situation, to "independently" examine the reasons for the retirement. The state of Hesse must therefore expect claims for damages.

In 2014 Weimar was awarded the Cross of Honor of the Nassau Fire Brigade Association on ribbon in silver.
