Badges of honor of the Nassau Fire Brigade Association are awarded in recognition and appreciation of the fire service in the area of the Nassau Fire Brigade Association in the form of a medal of honor or a cross of honor.
Medal of Honor
The medal of honor of the Nassau Fire Brigade Association on ribbon bears the inscription "Nassau Fire Brigade Association, founded 1872". In the middle is the coat of arms of the Nassau Fire Brigade Association. The medal is framed with oak leaves.
The medal of honor is awarded in the following stages:
- in silver on ribbon for at least 20 years of active service in the volunteer fire brigade ,
- Gold on the ribbon for at least 30 years of active service in the volunteer fire department.
Cross of Honor
The cross of honor of the Nassau Fire Brigade Association on ribbon for special merits or outstanding services consists of an isosceles cross with the coat of arms of the Nassau Fire Brigade Association in the middle. The coat of arms is framed by a wreath of oak leaves and bears the inscription "Nassauischer Feuerwehr-Verband, founded 1872".
The Cross of Honor is awarded in the following stages:
- in silver on ribbon for special merits,
- in gold on ribbon for outstanding services.
Award
The fire brigade decorations are awarded by the chairman of the Nassau Fire Brigade Association. They were donated on January 1, 1993. They have existed in their current form since April 22, 2008. A certificate is issued for the award of the honorary mark .

- The medal of honor in silver on ribbon can be awarded to members of fire departments for at least 20 years of active and dutiful service in the fire department .
- The gold medal on ribbon can be awarded to members of fire services for at least 30 years of active and dutiful service in the fire service.
- The cross of honor in silver on ribbon for special merits can be awarded:
- to people who have long-standing local or regional special services to the fire service;
- to members of fire brigades in the area of the Nassauischen Feuerwehrverband eV who have made long-term local or regional special services to the fire service.
- The cross of honor in gold on ribbon for outstanding services can only be awarded:
- to people who have made excellent local or long-term services to the fire service in the area of the Nassauischer Feuerwehrverband eV for decades;
- to members of fire brigades in the area of the Nassauische Feuerwehrverband eV who have made excellent contributions to the supra-local fire brigade system in the course of their work.
Benefactor
The Nassau Fire Brigade Association is one of three district fire brigade associations in the State Fire Brigade Association of Hesse . It was founded on July 27, 1872, the fire brigade association for the Wiesbaden district in Wiesbaden and has had an eventful history. The association is the amalgamation of eleven Hessian district fire brigade associations .
