Wilhelm Dietzel (born July 23, 1948 in Neudorf , Waldeck district ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was Hessian Minister for Environment, Agriculture and Forests from 1999 to 2009 .

education and profession

After graduating from elementary school, Dietzel attended the agricultural college and passed the assistant examination in 1969 and the examination as agricultural master in 1973 . From 1987 to 1999 he was Vice President of the Hessian Farmers' Association, until 1996 Chairman of the former Agricultural Social Insurance Hesse and until January 1995 Chairman of the State Agriculture Committee of Hesse. Dietzel is a Protestant, married and has three children.

Political offices

Dietzel has been a member of the CDU since 1974. Dietzel was involved in local politics from 1972 to 1981 as a local advisory council in Neudorf, since 1977 as a city councilor in Diemelstadt (parliamentary group leader of the CDU) and from 1981 to 1989 as a member of the district council in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district .

From November 10, 1994 to 1999 he was a member of the German Bundestag . He was elected via the state list of the CDU in Hesse. His successor was Wolfgang Steiger .

After winning the state election, Dietzel switched to the Hessian state government under Roland Koch on April 7, 1999 and became Hessian Minister for the Environment, Agriculture and Forests, since April 5, 2003 for the environment, rural areas and consumer protection. After serving in the executive Koch government for another year, he was replaced by Silke Lautenschläger after the 2009 state elections .

With the state elections in 2003, he was directly elected member of the Waldeck-Frankenberg I constituency since April 5, 2003 .
