Irmgard Reichhardt

Irmgard Reichhardt (born August 23, 1935 in Utphe ; † February 14, 1994 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Reichhardt was born the daughter of a farmer. After completing secondary school, she attended the home economics college . She completed a home economics apprenticeship, passed the master craftsman's examination in the field of rural home economics in 1960 and then ran the Ringelshausen estate in Rabertshausen . In addition, she was involved in agricultural organizations, became President of the Hessian Rural Women’s Association in 1973 and was President of the German Rural Women’s Association from 1986 to 1987 .

Reichhardt was involved in a serious traffic accident on September 9, 1993. She suffered injuries to which she succumbed on February 14, 1994 in a Frankfurt hospital.

Political party

Reichhardt joined the CDU on September 11, 1987.

MPs

Reichhardt was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1991 until her death . From 1991 to 1993 she was chairwoman of the parliament's committee for agriculture, forestry and regional development.

Public offices

Reichhardt served from April 24, 1987 to April 5, 1991 as Hessian State Minister for Agriculture, Forests and Nature Conservation in the state government led by Prime Minister Walter Wallmann .

Honors

In 1991 Irmgard Reichhardt received the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class.
