Jörg Jordan

Jörg Jordan (born September 30, 1939 in Zwickau ) is a former Hessian politician ( SPD ) and Hessian State Minister .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Bad Sooden-Allendorf in 1958, Jordan studied law in Göttingen and Frankfurt am Main .

After graduating, he worked in the Wiesbaden tax office and the Hessian Ministry of Economics .

After leaving the cabinet in 1995, Jörg Jordan worked as managing director of the Frankfurt project development company OFB group.

politics

Jörg Jordan has been a member of the SPD since 1963, where he held various board positions, most recently as a member of the Hesse South District Board and since 1983 as a member of the State Board .

In terms of local politics, Jordan was initially active as a member of the city council of Wiesbaden from 1968 to 1973. Between 1973 and 1979 he was a full-time member of the magistrate as head of urban development and construction.

From 1980 to 1987 Jörg Jordan was State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry for State Development, Environment, Agriculture and Forests . In the state elections in Hesse in 1983 , he ran in the Wiesbaden I constituency , but was inferior to the CDU candidate Manfred Kanther . From 1991 to 1995 he was the Hessian Minister for State Development, Housing, Agriculture, Forestry and Nature Conservation in the Eichel I cabinet .

Honors

By resolution of the city council on November 18, 2006, Jordan was made an honorary citizen of Wiesbaden.
