Neudorf is a district of the city of Diemelstadt in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .

Geographical location

Neudorf is located on the Orpe in the so-called Red Land at the Teutoburg Forest / Eggegebirge nature park .

The townscape is still characterized today by Lower Saxon farmhouses but also houses in the Franconian-Saxon mixed type.

history

In 1189 the Waldecker Burg, Burg Brobeck , which fell desolate around 1550, is mentioned near the Bruchmühle. The village itself was first mentioned in 1537 as “the nigge village before the Urehanenberg”.

On December 31, 1970 Neudorf was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the city Diemelstadt incorporated .
