Ammenhausen is the southernmost district of the city of Diemelstadt in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .
Geographical location
The place lies between the wooded mountain ranges Stock and Eichholz in a fertile valley, which belongs to the Rhoder valley . State road 3081 runs through the village .
Partly well-preserved main / subsidiary farms, built in the Lower Saxon style, still characterize the townscape today. Numerous historical finds indicate an earlier settlement.
history
The village is first mentioned in 1243 in connection with a donation (tithe) to the Hardehausen monastery .
On December 31, 1970 Ammenhausen was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the city Diemelstadt incorporated .
