Kristina Sinemus (born September 16, 1963 in Darmstadt ) is a German entrepreneur and has been the Hessian Minister of State for Digital Strategy and Development since January 2019 .

She studied communication science , pedagogy , biology and chemistry in Münster and Kassel . In 1995 she received her doctorate from the Technical University of Darmstadt on the interdisciplinary subject of biological risk analysis of genetically engineered herbicide-resistant crops . In 1998 she founded Genius GmbH as a managing partner, which specialized in science communication as a specialist agency. In 2011 she was appointed professor for public affairs at Quadriga University Berlin . In 2014 she was elected President of the Darmstadt Rhein Main Neckar Chamber of Commerce and Industry . In September 2018 she became a member of the Council for Digital Ethics .

As a non-party, Sinemus was proposed by Prime Minister Volker Bouffier for the CDU Hessen on January 15, 2019 as Minister of State of the new Hessian Ministry for Digital Strategy and Development in the Bouffier III cabinet . On January 18, 2019, she was officially appointed in the state parliament.
