Hessian Monument Protection Prize
The Hessian Monument Protection Prize has been awarded annually since 1986 by the State of Hesse together with Lotterie-Treuhandgesellschaft mbH Hesse . It is endowed with 15,000 euros.
The prize is awarded for monument preservation services that go beyond what is required under monument protection law and are of national importance. The prize is awarded for services in all areas of monument preservation, ground monument preservation , building and art monument preservation and garden monument preservation . The prize is intended to highlight exemplary role models for monument conservation methodology and voluntariness and to make them known to a broad public. Prize winners can be individuals, owners , civic initiatives or corporations .
The monument authorities , support associations and initiatives in the Hessian monument preservation are entitled to make proposals . A competent and independent jury made up of representatives of the monument authorities, the State Monument Council , the crafts and the founder decide on the award of the prize .
As a rule, several prizes are awarded each year and the prize money is divided between the winners. Cash prizes are only given to private owners or civic initiatives. Everyone - including institutions and municipalities - will receive a certificate and a bronze plaque that can be attached to the excellent cultural monument .
