Robert Gernhardt Prize
The Robert Gernhardt Prize is a literary prize that has been awarded by the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art and the Hessen Business and Infrastructure Bank since 2009 .
history
The prize was first awarded in 2009. The award is named after the author, draftsman and painter Robert Gernhardt , who died in Frankfurt am Main in 2006 .
price
The award is intended to enable authors to realize a larger literary project. Applicants must already have published at least two literary works and be related to Hessen .
The prize is awarded annually to two authors, each of whom receives prize money of 12,000 euros. In 2020, three projects (with a total of 36,000 euros) will be funded, as the 2019 prize was only awarded for one project. The prize money is donated by the Hessen Economic and Infrastructure Bank.

A jury made up of the Frankfurt author Eva Demski , the literary scholar Karl-Heinz Götze (professorship for German literature and regional studies at the University of Aix-Marseille ), the Frankfurt literary critic Christoph Schröder and one each will decide on the awarding of the Robert Gernhardt Prize Representatives of the Hessen Economic and Infrastructure Bank, the Hessian Literature Forum in Mousonturm and the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art.
