Pete Smith (Author)
Pete Smith (born August 21, 1960 in Soest ) is a German writer .
Life
Pete Smith grew up in Soest as the son of a Spaniard and an Englishman. He attended Aldegrever High School , where he graduated from high school in 1980. After several months in London , he enrolled at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster to study German, philosophy and journalism, which he completed in 1987 with a magister artium . After a traineeship at Westfälischer Anzeiger , he worked for a few years as the culture editor of the Ärzte Zeitung in Neu-Isenburg before settling down as a freelance writer in Frankfurt am Main .
Smith writes novels, short stories, essays, and books for children and young people , including a. have been published by Ueberreuter Verlag and some have been translated into several languages. Among other awards, he received the Robert Gernhardt Prize in 2012 for his novel project Endspiel , which was published by Societäts-Verlag in 2015 . Since 2015 he has also published new editions of his out of print titles in the Gegenwind edition .
Pete Smith lives in Frankfurt am Main.
