Eva Demski (* 12. May 1944 as Eva Katrin Küfner in Regensburg ) is a German writer .

biography

Eva Demski, the daughter of the set designer Rudolf Küfner, spent her childhood in Regensburg, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt am Main . She attended the old-language Lessing grammar school , where she passed the Abitur. From 1964 to 1968 she studied German , art history and philosophy at the Universities of Mainz and Freiburg im Breisgau . She then worked as a dramaturgy assistant at the Schauspiel Frankfurt and as a freelance editor and translator. From 1969 to 1977 she worked for the Hessischer Rundfunk , in particular the culture magazine ttt - titel, thesen, temperamente . From 1967 until his death in 1974 she was married to the defense attorney Reiner Demski. Since 1977 she has lived as a freelance writer in Frankfurt am Main.

Eva Demski was a member of the PEN Center Germany until 1996 , from which she resigned because of the hasty unification of East and West German PEN.
