Silke Scheuermann (born June 15, 1973 in Karlsruhe ) is a German writer .

life and work

After graduating from high school, Silke Scheuermann studied theater and literature in Frankfurt am Main , Leipzig and Paris . She writes poetry and prose, which have been published in numerous anthologies (including The Great Conrady ) and literary magazines. Silke Scheuermann made her debut in 2001 with the poetry book Der Tag auf dem Möwen sang in two voices . In 2007 the novel The Hour Between Dog and Wolf was published , for which the author was awarded the Grimmelshausen Prize. In 2007 she was invited to the Klagenfurt reading competition for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize . In 2009 she received a scholarship from the Villa Massimo . She regularly writes the Lyrischer Moment column for the literary magazine Volltext . The poet received the Hölty Prize for Poetry 2014, endowed with 20,000 euros, for her previous lyric work and above all for the poetry book Sketch vom Gras . It is the most highly endowed poetry award in the German-speaking area. In 2016 she was honored with the Bertolt Brecht and Robert Gernhardt Prize.

Silke Scheuermann lived in Frankfurt until 2008 and then moved to the neighboring city of Offenbach am Main .

She is a member of the PEN Center Germany .
