Leonard Ashley Willoughby

Leonard Ashley Willoughby ( June 4, 1885 - October 5, 1977 ) was a British German studies specialist .

Life

He taught from 1931 to 1950 as a professor of German at University College London . In 1936 he founded the German Life and Letters magazine with Basil Blackwell . In 1947 he gave the Taylorian Lecture at Oxford University and chose the topic Unity and Continuity in Goethe ("Unity and Continuity in Goethe ").
