Wolfram Schütte

Wolfram Schütte (born September 16, 1939 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German journalist , author, literary and film critic and editor of film literature.

Life

After graduating from the Helmholtz School , Schütte studied German , philosophy and sociology in Frankfurt am Main . From 1967 to 1999 he was an editor in the features section of the Frankfurter Rundschau and its main film critic. Together with Peter W. Jansen, he was the editor of the film series at Hanser Verlag , of which 45 volumes were published between 1974 and 1992. There and in other publications, Schütte published, in addition to his continuous review work in the Frankfurter Rundschau on film and literature of the 20th century, his widely acclaimed articles and essays on film history and contemporary film. In TITLE culture magazine regularly published columns by him, since mid-2012, his journalistic work in CULTurMAG be read. In the literary field he published on writers such as Heinrich Mann , Jean Paul and Martin Walser . He is also particularly interested in Arno Schmidt , for example, at the invitation of Jörg Drews , he took part in the first meeting of Schmidt readers in Bargfeld in May 1970 , which later became the Bargfelder Bote , for which Schütte also wrote.

In 1994 Schütte was a member of the international jury of the Berlinale . In 2019 he was one of the founders of the hr2-Wort initiative , which is protesting against the planned conversion of “ hr2-kultur ” from a cultural to a music program for 2020 .
